Performance Against NHS Improvement Indicators
In 2024-2025, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) continued to serve as a cornerstone of healthcare provision for over 410,000 residents across North West Surrey and neighbouring areas. With a turnover of £475 million and a dedicated workforce of approximately 4,800 individuals, the Trust operates across a range of hospital and community sites, including Ashford Hospital, St Peter’s Hospital, and Woking Community Hospital. These sites collectively provide a blend of emergency, planned, and community based healthcare services. ASPH’s efforts remain closely aligned with the North West Surrey Alliance Integrated Care Partnership, aiming to ensure that patients receive seamless and high-quality care.
Throughout the year, ASPH recorded notable increases in patient activity, reflecting both the recovery of services post-COVID and the growing demand for healthcare. The Trust managed 40,735 emergency admissions, marking a 6% rise from the previous year. Elective care also saw significant growth, with 54,029 planned inpatient and day case procedures, a 13% increase, demonstrating the Trust’s commitment to elective recovery. Emergency Department (ED) attendances rose by 5% to 120,914, while outpatient appointments totalled 559,366, including 105,932 virtual appointments, which represented a 14% increase. Maternity services remained robust, with the delivery of 2,753 babies during the year.
The Trust delivered a strong performance against the NHS England 2024-2025 Priorities and Operational Planning Guidance, with the majority of indicators exceeding national averages for acute Trusts, highlighting the Trust’s continued commitment to high-quality care and system-wide improvement.
