Each year, we celebrate International Nurses Day on 12 May, which is also Florence Nightingale’s birthday. This year’s theme, Our nurses. Our future. Empowered nurses save lives, highlights the vital role nurses play in delivering safe, high quality care and the importance of investing in and celebrating the profession.
PSA Testing Event at Burhill Golf Club
Sunday 8 March saw our second, successful, annual PSA Testing Event, bringing together Burhill Golf Club, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals’ Charity and our Urology Team to deliver 90 PSA blood tests, testing for potential prostate cancer.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) has been recognised as a positive outlier in the National Neonatal Audit Programme (NNAP), achieving outstanding results across four key measures of neonatal care.

Aspen Team Raise over £5,000 for the Room to Recover Appeal at Guildford 10k
#TeamAspen made it round the Guildford 10k course on Sunday morning to raise an AMAZING £5324 for our Room to Recover Appeal. Massive congratulations to everyone who took part, especially those who battled injuries and patchy training for a great cause.
Final London Marathon Place Available
Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals’ Charity is offering the chance to take up one final place in the 2026 TCS London Marathon and they are looking for a runner with a personal connection to the hospital to take it on.
The Twilight Runway Challenge is a fun, family-friendly event which takes place along the airstrip of Blackbushe Airport after flights have finished for the day.

Little Roo Neonatal Fund is delighted to be hosting its third Little Roo Legends Family Picnic on Sunday 29th June 2025, at Greenfield School.
VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations at ASPH
On Thursday 8 May, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH) hosted a range of activities to mark 80 years of Victory in Europe, including Victory Celebratory Ceremonies held at both Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals. Children on Oak Ward produced beautiful artwork and patients were served afternoon tea on the wards. Visitors, patients and staff were also treated to a wartime music performance, themed catering at the trust’s staff restaurants and a charity cake sale at St Peter’s gave everyone a chance to buy a sweet treat.
Local Veterans Support ASPH Charity with 80km Cycling Challenge
In honour of the 80th Anniversary of VE Day on Thursday 8 May, two local Armed Forces veterans of 30 years will be taking on a challenging 80km cycle ride from St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey to fundraise for activities that support ex-servicemen and women at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
New Sensory Garden at Ashford Hospital Opened by Mayor of Spelthorne
Staff, patients and visitors at the Ashford Hospital site in Surrey are benefiting from a new sensory garden, thanks to a kind donation to the Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals’ Charity from Cllr Med Buck, Mayor of Spelthorne and volunteers from the SMP Alliance M4 project, Balfour Beatty and Mway Comms, who donated resources and their time to create the garden.
Neonatal Nurses Run in Support of their Tiny Patients
On Sunday 6 April, two neonatal nurses will take part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon to support the babies and families they care for on the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at St Peter’s Hospital.
Urology with Burhill Golf Club Collaboration
On the 8th March, the Urology team partnered with Burhill Golf Club, PSA testing 87 of their members during National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
New Exhibition at Chertsey Museum Honours St Peter's Hospital and NHS Heroes
A project that celebrates St Peter’s Hospital's history and the invaluable contributions of local NHS heroes has been completed, by Chertsey Museum working with people from across the hospital itself.
Former NICU Dad Supports Coffee Mornings for Families of our Smallest Patients
A parent whose son spent roughly 100 days being cared for by the incredible team on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) based at St Peter’s Hospital, is supporting other parents to come together to share similar experiences of having a baby who has received or is receiving care on the NICU.
New Sensory Interactive Projector
When developing the new Children and Young Person’s Outpatient department at Ashford Hospital, we wanted to create a space that provided a calming environment that eases any anxieties felt by our younger patients.
