Help us to create a greener NHS by returning your mobility equipment once it is no longer needed so they can be reused by other patients.

Items such as walking sticks, crutches and Zimmer frames, in addition to shower chairs and commodes, can be returned to the main entrances of our Ashford or St Peter’s hospital sites.

When returning your equipment, please speak with the reception team. They will be able to direct you to the ‘drop off’ points and contact the relevant team who will be able to collect and clean the items so that they are ready to be used by someone else.

Community Recycling Collection Points

Residents living in North West Surrey can also return no longer needed walking aids like frames and sticks to any of the following participating libraries in the Staines area:

  • Ashford
  • Chertsey
  • Egham
  • Shepperton
  • Staines
  • Stanwell
  • Sunbury

The walking aids are collected from these local libraries and taken to the central Staines Library where they are stored for the aids company to collect. These returned walking aids are then either recycled or cleaned and reused.
