Opportunities for Work Experience
In-person work experience placements are usually offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, for a short period of 1, 2 or 3 days depending on the specialty area. Placements must be organised by the Work-Experience Co-ordinator.
During 2021 we plan to offer Work Experience and Work Shadowing placements, and applicants are allocated one of them, depending on their situation:
- Work EXPERIENCE Placements (Age 16 years +)
Placements are arranged for students interested in joining the NHS in both clinical and non-clinical support roles and may include Nursing, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Portering, I.T., Human Resources etc. - Work SHADOWING Placements (Age 17 years +)
These placements are specifically for students interested in pursuing a career in MEDICINE and may include time in Orthopaedic Outpatients, the Emergency Department, Endoscopy and the Operating Theatre.
Please be aware that it is unlikely you will be offered a placement during the same week as someone from the same school/college.
We are not accepting applications for work experience at the present time.
